Along with growing industrialization and traffic jams, air pollution is one of the major concerns of the 21st century. With this inconvenience of air pollution in urban living, it is essential to take care of your skin. It can easily get impacted with toxic particles, carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxide emissions from cars, and leftovers from factories. All these gases are quite responsible for skin deterioration. The polluted air makes it hard for skin to breathe, leaving it irritated and dehydrated. Air pollution also leads to redness of the skin, rosacea, and eczema. However, here are some simple tips to avoid skin worsening due to air pollution.

Air pollution health tips and skincare regimes to follow

1.  Exfoliate your skin once or twice a week

Exfoliation is the process of removing dead skin cells from the surface of the skin using a chemical or granular substance. Most dermatologists suggest that instead of chemical substances, one can use mild scrub for exfoliation. In addition to unclogging your pores and removing dead skin cells, exfoliating prevents pollutants from settling in your pores. It also prevents dirt and bacteria from building up. As an added bonus, the products you apply after exfoliating your skin may be more effective. It can be a moisturizer or any skincare cream.

2.  Keep your skin hydrated

Drink plenty of water. You can make detox water at home using amla and tulsi leaves. It helps in flushing out toxins and gives essential anti-oxidants to the skin. It is also said that you should wash your face at least twice a day. With constant hydration, it is also essential to choose the right face wash as per your skin type. Washing helps to get rid of dirt and pollutants as easily as possible.

Not only are UV rays harmful to the skin, but they also amplify the effects of pollutants.
