Blood Pressure patients have to be cautious about various things. The ailment is a silent killer because anything unexpected can trigger it. Lowering blood pressure is not that difficult with the help of medication. However, there are various home remedies related to food items and exercises that can help a person deal with this problem. Here are a few tips that one must know while indulging into blood pressure-lowering exercises.
Cardio exercise
Doing cardio exercises helps at lowering blood pressure. Although, many people worry because their blood pressure rises while doing these cardio exercises. These exercises may provide temporary relief to those suffering from this problem. These exercises include basketball, tennis, jogging, swimming, and even household chores like mopping the floor. But, there is a moderate intensity at which results will start showing. These exercises must be done for at least 150 minutes, according to the Health Promotion Board.
Train with weights
Weight training is extremely beneficial for lowering blood pressure. At times while doing weight training exercises it is evident that the blood pressure will rise especially when a person lifts heavyweights. Do not worry, as in the long run, it will help in lowering blood pressure and will prove beneficial for the overall health of a person.
Do not indulge in irregular exercise
If a person does not have enough time to do a 30-minute exercise session during the week, consider breaking up the workout into 10-minute segments. This would be better than putting all the physical strength into a single day because sudden bursts of activity could be risky, so it is always better to take steps gradually towards regular exercising.
Be careful of the body
While indulging in such cardio exercises one may feel a little dizzy or restless. Stop exercising if such a situation occurs when a person experiences chest pain or tightness, dizziness, excessive fatigue, or severe shortness of breath.
