On this day, people show their patriotism by hoisting the national flag at their homes, societies, schools, and other locations. However, many are unaware of the history of the Tricolour, India’s national flag to honour the sacrifice of the freedom fighters.

Interestingly, August 15 is not just a day of independence for India, there are five other countries that also attained freedom on this date and celebrate their Independence Day with Indians.
