All you need is a full Monopoly board game consisting of all the essentials - the dice, the different pieces and the various denominations of money. The game consists of a group of two to eight players. Monopoly can be played between two people, but it becomes more exciting and enjoyable when there are more people involved, as it is with any game.
How to play Monopoly with family and friends
· Before beginning the game, one of the players needs to be chosen as the banker. The banker is responsible for the play money, hotels and houses that are the bank’s property. The banker can still participate in the game, but they cannot use the bank’s money as their own.
· Next, players need to organise the board.
· Players may then proceed to select a piece. Each player should choose a piece of a different colour.
· Each player must first receive a certain amount of money. The amount depends upon where the game is played, but the banker should equally distribute it among each of the players.
· To decide who starts playing, all the players have to roll the dice. The player who scores the highest number starts the game.
· When a player lands on a property that is yet to be claimed, they must buy it. The player gets a monopoly when they own all the properties in a particular colour zone.
· If the player lands on someone else’s property, they must pay the rent that has been mentioned on the card.
· The player can earn money when they pass Go. Again, the amount of money depends on where the game is being played.
· The player may also find themselves in 'jail'. When this happens, they cannot move around the board anymore. But they can continue to collect rent and the like.
