It is always said that children resemble their parents, now it seems like the same goes for pets. A photographer from Europe is setting the internet on fire by capturing similar looking pictures of the pet dogs and their owners. Renowned animal photographer, Gerrard Gethings, who was working on a project by Laurence King Publishing, called 'Do You Look Like Your Dog?' shot pairs of identical-looking humans and their dogs. The project that aims to explore the intense bond shared by humans and their dogs, portrays how the dogs and their owners influence each other. The shocking resemblance between the both has grabbed several eyeballs.

Here take a look at some of the photographs that depict the uncanny resemblance:

The London based publishing, Laurence King Publishing is recognised as one of the world's leading publishers of books on the creative arts. One and half years ago they hired Gethings to produce 50 portraits, illustrating the idea of dogs who look like their owners. Several people across England have joined the project. A few of the pictures are published already and the whole collection has been made into a game, which is all set to hit the markets on September 10. However, it is already available in bookshops across Australia, San Francisco and Manchester.

Explaining the intent of the project, the publishing house in an Instagram post stated, "Why do people look like their dogs? Is it shared personality traits, barely suppressed narcissistic tendencies, or do they grow together over time like old married couples? This game explores the intense bonds we develop with our dogs, which are far from only skin, or even fur, deep. Pair up the dogs with their owners in this hilarious card game. Play as a memory game with the cards faces down for added entertainment!
