Charminar
The very well-known Charminar in Hyderabad is located at the Old City. Charminar was built in 1591. It was built by Sultan Mohammed Quli Qutb Shah in honour of his wife Bhagmati. The square-shaped structure has a height of 56m and breadth of 30m. Charminar is also referred to as the ‘Arc de Triomphe of the East’ and is decorated with four towers, one in each corner. The structure also has a mosque within the premises on the top floor. The mosque has 45 prayer spaces that are visited by people till date, especially on Fridays. There is beautiful lighting there in the evening that is worth watching.
Golconda Fort
Golconda Fort is built by Qutub Shahi Kings. Even though it is 11 km away from the main city, Golconda Fort is very well connected to the rest of the city. The structure of the fort is quite impressive with eight gates and 87 bastions. The fort has majestic walls that are as high as 15-18 feet and a parameter of close to 11km. The best part about visiting the Golconda Fort is the light and sound show in the evening. The show is in English, Hindi, and Telugu with a voice-over by the Bollywood superstar, Amitabh Bachchan, and it is definitely something not to miss when visiting the fort.
Ramoji Film City
Ramoji Film City is one of the largest film studios in the world with a capacity of almost 50 film units within a given point of time. Since 1991, Ramoji Film City has been attracting tourists from every corner of the world. The place is also listed in the Guinness Book of World Records. It is situated about 30 km away from Hyderabad and is spread over 2500 acres. It has various sets like London Street, Hollywood sign, Japenese gardens, and it also has many other features such as Interactive Entertainment, Filmi Duniya, etc. All this is what makes Ramoji memorable.
