Mona Singh reacts to people judging her choice to marry husband Shyam Rajagopalan

Mona Singh frequently receives harsh criticism for the way she looks and occasionally even for the decisions she makes. Regarding the same, the actress recently discussed how people judged her for marrying her spouse Shyam Rajagopalan. She claimed that she invited only those people to her wedding who politely accepted her decision and joined her in celebration, offering no commentary on her choice.

In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Mona opened up on the judgment she faced from her friends and family members when she chose to marry Shyam Rajagopalan. 

The actress said, “I have had a love marriage, my husband comes from a very different background. They’re South Indians, different cultures but nobody commented at my wedding. I didn’t invite all the relatives who used to say behind my back, ‘What have you done? Who is he? The marriage was not done in a certain way.’ I keep those toxic people away from my life.”

Praising heaps on her husband, Mona added that he has been incredibly helpful with everything and always pushes him to do better in her career. The actress states a major reason why she married him was because he doesn’t get intimidated by her success.

Even before marriage, she knew him for 5 years but wasn’t sure if she wanted to tie the knot or settle down. However, during the time of their relationship Shyam not once said anything bad about her profession, her acting, or the way she looked.

Mona Singh tied the knot with Shyam Rajagopalan on December 27, 2019. The couple exchanged wedding vows at the Juhu Military Club in Mumbai in a traditional Sikh ceremony.
