Bharat Mata Ki Jai, Jai Hind Slogans Coined by Muslims: Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan at Anti-CAA Rally

Malappuram: Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Monday while launching an anti-CAA rally at Mallapuram said slogans 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai' and 'Jai Hind' were first raised by two Muslims. Stating that Azimullah Khan, a Muslim, coined slogan 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai', Pinarayi Vijayan slammed  ruling BJP government at Centre, accusing it of "trying to erase cultural history of country." CM Vijayan asked wher Sangh Parivar would be rey to abandon se patriotic chants.

Reaching out to minority community in this Muslim-dominated north Kerala district, veteran CPI(M) leer said Muslim rulers, cultural icons and officials h played a significant role in country's history and independence movement.

During rally, Kerala CM stated that Sangh Parivar's agenda not only aimed to view Muslims as second-class citizens but also treat m as a group that should be expelled from country. "We have seen some Sangh Parivar leers coming and asking people sitting in front of m to chant slogan Bharat Mata Ki Jai. Has slogan been coined by any person affiliated to Sangh Parivar? name of person who coined it is Azimullah Khan, who was prime minister to Maratha Peshwa Nana Saheb in 19th century. I don't know if y would decide tomorrow not to chant slogan as a Muslim coined it," he said.

Vijayan highlighted that slogan "Jai Hind" was introduced by a Muslim, former diplomat Abid Hasan Safrani. He urged activists affiliated with Sangh Parivar, who vocate for Muslims to leave country, to acknowledge this historical fact. ditionally, he noted that widely popular patriotic song "Sare Jahan Se Acha Hindustan Hamara" was composed by Muhammed Iqbal.

He emphasised that state government would le in opposing agenda of Sangh Parivar and laws such as CAA, which he argued violate principles of Constitution. Vijayan furr alleged that initiatives of Sangh Parivar are part of efforts to implement highly divisive agenda of RSS, which is set to celebrate its centenary in 2025.
