Mamata Banerjee likely to skip Ram Mandir inauguration ceremony

Ayodhya: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will not to attending the inauguration of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya scheduled for January 22, 2024, sources said. This comes after Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra trust invited leaders from all political parties for the consecration ceremony.
Earlier in the day, Chairman of the Indian Overseas Congress Sam Pitroda asserted that much importance is being given to the Ram Mandir ceremony, adding that it bothers him. Speculation were rife that Sonia Gandhi along with other party leader would not be attending the ceremony.
Earlier, the left parties including Communist Party of India (CPI) and Communist Party of India (Marxist) had announced that the party leaders would not attend the Ram Mandir inauguration ceremony.
