Chhattisgarh polls: CM Baghel ignites fresh controversy, urges EC to check vehicles of CRPF, ED
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has sparked a fresh controversy by alleging that boxes filled with cash are being transported via CRPF planes.
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has sparked a fresh controversy by alleging that boxes filled with cash are being transported via CRPF planes. He has called on the Election Commission to initiate thorough checks on various vehicles, particularly those belonging to the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and CRPF.
Addressing reporters, CM Baghel expressed his concerns, stating, "No checks have been conducted on the boxes carried on CRPF’s planes. ED is welcome to investigate. I appeal to the Election Commission to inspect CRPF vehicles. The BJP has accepted defeat, and this seems to be their last-ditch effort – filling boxes with cash to influence voters. Therefore, checking every vehicle, especially those of the ED and CRPF, is crucial."
"We already have multiple CRPF units here, so why the need to bring in more? The implication is that these boxes are being transported here. It's possible that they contain cash or something else, so a thorough inspection should be carried out," he added.

Taking to his ‘X’ (formerly Twitter), Baghel said, “Big Conspiracy? The Election Commission is requested to check all the special planes landing in Chhattisgarh. After all, what is packed in the boxes of ED and CRPF vehicles coming in the name of raids should also be checked. The people of the state fear that the BJP is bringing in huge sums of money after seeing it losing the elections."
