Mahua Moitra's expulsion result of 'Maa Kali's curse': BJP's Suvendu Adhikari
The TMC leader had earlier made remark on Goddess Kali during a conclave in 2022. He shared the video of Moitra making the statement.
Kolkata: Moments after Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra was expelled from Lok Sabha in connection with the 'cash-for-query' case, West Bengal Leader of Opposition and BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari on Friday attributed her expulsion from the House to “Goddess Kali’s curse”.
Reacting over her disqualification as an MP, the saffron party leader took to X and wrote, “ Mere mortal know your limitations, don't use slanderous words while referring to the Divine. You don't have the capacity to belittle Her, but Her Rage can Raze you completely. Jai Maa Kali”
Adhikari claimed that her expulsion was the result of the goddess's "curse" as Moitra had said Maa Kaali "is a meat-eating, alcohol-accepting goddess". The TMC leader had earlier made the remark during a conclave in 2022. He shared the video of her making the statement.
He said,” We hope that the CBI will investigate this case. People of Bengal are happy. Adhikari also recalled the time when Moitra described the press as "two paisa worth". “The Sanatana Dharma-opposing MP has been destroyed today. Mamata Banerjee will definitely support her because corruption is one of her agendas,” he added.
Moitra was expelled from the Lok Sabha through a voice vote on the recommendations of the Ethics Committee. She is accused of sharing her login credentials with businessman Darshan Hiranandani to ask questions against Gautam Adani in the Parliament in return for cash and gifts.
After a heated debate over the panel report during which Moitra was not allowed to speak, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi moved a motion to expel the TMC member for "unethical conduct", which was adopted by a voice vote.
In her defence, Mahua said outside the Parliament after her expulsion that "there is no evidence of any cash, of any gifts anywhere."
