Pawan Kalyan Named Deputy CM To Chandrababu Naidu, Vangalapudi Alloted Home

New Delhi: Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan was designated as the Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh under CM Chandrababu Naidu on Friday, June 14. Jana Sena party, led by actor-turned-politician Pawan Kalyan, won 21 seats in the just-concluded Andhra Pradesh assembly elections, leading NDA to power.
Following the mandate, TDP supremo N Chandrababu Naidu was sworn-in as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh for the fourth term on Wednesday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, his cabinet colleagues Amit Shah, Nitin Gadkari, J P Nadda and several other leaders and prominent personalities were present at the ceremony.

Speculations were rife that Pawan Kalyan will be appointed as Naidu's deputy, however, there was no official word until Friday. The official announcement came on Friday.
22 MLAs took oath along with Chandrababu Naidu, Pawan Kalyan, Nara Lokesh in Andhra Pradesh on Wednesday, June 12. While Pawan Kalyan was appointed as deputy CM of Andhra Pradesh, he has also been allotted multiple portfolios including - Panchayat Raj and Rural Development, Environment, Forests, and Science and Technology ministers.

N Chandrababu Naidu's son Nara Lokesh was given Human Resources Development, Information Technology and Communication portfolios. Anitha Vangalapudi would be the Home Minister.
P Narayana was allotted one of the key departments- Municipal Administration- which would be responsible for the development of the Amaravati capital region, reported PTI.
