UP man shows jail release certificate for crime of 'Rambhakti' from 1990, pic goes viral
Manoj Kumar Agarwal's arrest was made on October 28 for worshipping Lord Ram and released on November 8.
A release certificate of a prisoner from Aligarh District Jail is now going viral for a crime millions of Indians commit everyday. The prisoner Manoj Kumar Agarwal who was arrested for roughly two weeks in 1990 was charged of 'Rambhakti' and shockingly enough, the crime was already printed on the certificate. Agarwal's arrest was made on October 28 for worshipping Lord Ram and released on November 8.
Agarwal shared his certificate on Facebook and recalled the time under UP Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav when worshipping Lord Ram was considered a 'crime.'
"Uncountable Ram devotees made sacrifices, got beaten, were sent to jail. When the eastern wind blows, the pain of the police batons return. By the grace of Ram, all the pain goes away as we get to see this golden day," Agarwal said in his Facebook post referring to the consecration ceremony of the Ayodhya Ram Temple on January 22.
Notably, Agarwal was booked under CrPC (Criminal Procedure Code) sections 107 and 116 which allows the administration to arrest a person on the possibility of threat to peace and summon a person for enquiry, respectively.
Further in his Facebook post, he went on to predict that Ayodhya will soon become the world's third biggest "power center" and Uttar Pradesh will be flooded with tourists, making the state the one with “India's biggest forex reserve.”
