Indian shuttler Sai Praneeth went a spot up to achieve his career-best 11th spot in the latest BWF rankings after he overcame five-time world champion and two-times Olympic champion Lin Dan at the Denmark Open 2019. Meanwhile, in the women’s singles ranking, Saina Nehwal slipped to the 9th place as she continues her poor-form in the recent tournaments.
World Championships bronze medallist Praneeth suffered a straight-game defeat against World No 1 Kento Momota. On the other hand, London Olympic bronze medallist Nehwal had crashed out in the first round itself of the Denmark Open. She got out of the tournament in the first round itself for the third consecutive time and sixth overall this season.
