Carmelo Anthony missed a 20-foot jumper at first but opened the game for the Trail Blazers with a 26-foot 3 point jumper after an assist from CJ McCollum two minutes into the game. He scored 3 of 6 shots from the ground before being sent to the bench in the middle of Q2 after his third foul. In Q4, Anthony missed all three of his attempts. He made 4-of-14 field-goal attempts, finishing the game with 10 points and 4 rebounds. He turned over the ball 5 times and had a game-worse -20. He clocked out with 6:21 minutes left on the clock after his fifth foul.
According to various NBA reports, Anthony had a rusty and slow start with the Trail Blazers. Damian Lillard, who has been scoring consistently for the Trail Blazers, is sidelined due to back spasms. As Lillard will be absent, Anthony will have an opportunity to score for the team.
