Los Angeles Clippers point guard Landry Shamet went down with pain on Tuesday when the LA Clippers faced the Toronto Raptors with many fearing that the 22-year-old is set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines. However, it is reported that Shamet has avoided a serious injury but still is expected to be out for 6-12 weeks.

LA Clippers vs Toronto Raptors: Shamet's goes down for the Clippers
On Tuesday, November 12, the LA Clippers faced off against the Toronto Raptors in the Staples Center, LA. With just about two minutes left in the third quarter, Raptors’ Fred VanVleet's foot appeared to make contact with Shamet’s left foot. Shamet was instantly down and was helped off of the court. He did not return for the rest of the game. Despite the LA Clippers winning the game 98-88, Shamet's apparent injury was seen as a big blow to the side.

Landry Shamet was scheduled for an MRI on Wednesday and it has been reported that the guard has avoided significant injury. Shamet has suffered a Grade 2 high sprain on his left ankle. And although a timetable for Shamet’s recovery time is yet to be determined, it is speculated that the average recovery time for a Grade 2 high ankle sprain is around 6-12 weeks. This would mean the LA Clippers could expect to have Shamet back on the court between Christmas and early February.
Landry Shamet's loss to hurt LA Clippers?
Landry Shamet has started all 10 games this season so far and was averaging about 9.4 points per game. He is one of the Clippers’ starting five and his absence poses a major issue for the Clippers. Shamet was averaging 9.4 points, 1.7 assists and 1.6 rebounds per game while shooting 39% from the field and 36.2 percent from the three.
