Paul George expected to make Clippers debut against Houston Rockets
Paul George, who has missed all the games for the LA Clippers so far, is expected to make his Clippers debut against the Houston Rockets after shoulder surgery.
A 5-2 record in the NBA this season means that the Los Angeles Clippers are arguably one of the best teams in the Western Conference this season. Kawhi Leonard has lived up to the mammoth expectations placed on him by Clippers fans, and as such, the LA Clippers are tied for the NBA’s fourth-best record (5-2). All of this, despite having six-time NBA All-Star Paul George sit out all of the Clippers’ games this season.
It’s scary, really. With former Raptors’ star Kawhi Leonard averaging close to 30 points per game, the Clippers have looked unbeatable so far. Amid such form, it’s understandable that Paul George is itching to return to the court. Paul George is expected to return to the Clippers’ side in their upcoming games against either the Houston Rockets or New Orleans Pelicans.
George, who has been recovering from shoulder surgery, is targeting a comeback during either of the opening games. However, even if he misses the game against the James Harden-led Houston Rockets, Clippers fans will be excited to see the All-Star forward don the Clippers’ jersey for the first time. Either Landry Shamet or Patrick Patterson is expected to make way for Paul George’s return, as the Clippers look to fill out one of the very few remaining holes in the squad.
What Paul George's return could mean for the LA Clippers
The Clippers are arguably capable of winning regular-season games without Paul George. They will, therefore, have to ease the six-time All-Star into action, considering the injuries he has faced. The pairing of Kawhi Leonard and Paul George is expected to add another dimension to the versatility of the LA Clippers. Paul George's return will also prove to be music to Kawhi Leonard’s ears, who pined for the Clippers to sign Paul George this season.
