After a 12-month ball-tampering ban, the Australian captain, Steve Smith got himself into another controversy. The 30-year-old cricketer was seen mocking the glasses-wearing Captain of England, Jack Leach for the 1 run he scored in the last wicket of a 76-run partnership with Ben Stokes. Australia Beat England by 185 runs in the fourth Test to retain the Ashes at Old Trafford. Bespectacled Steve Smith shadow batted left-handed in the middle of the ground surrounded by his team while celebrating the victory. Fans slammed him on social media by calling him "classless". By his performance throughout the Ashes, Steve Smith seemed to be gaining the respect back by everyone. Smith scored an impressive 671 runs in 5 innings with a run rate of 134.2 which include three hundreds.

Australian coach Justin Langer expressed his happiness stating "We've got the best fast bowler (Cummins) in the world and the best Test batsman in the world. "I thought Virat Kohli was the best batsman I've ever seen because of the way he plays in all forms, but Steve Smith... That's another level."

Things were going pretty good for the Australian team as they won it against England. It was also a time of celebration for them as Steve Smith returned after 12 months and played a flabbergasting inning. But the celebration did not go as well for Australia as some images of Bespectacled Steve Smith went viral. Smith was seen donning glasses and indirectly mocking the Captain of England who came last to bat and scored 1 run in a 76-runs partnership with Ben Stokes.
