The meeting comes after India's 3-0 whitewash over South Africa in the test series. India bowled out South Africa on Tuesday morning to win the Test and end the Test series on a high. India defeated South Africa by an innings and 202 runs in Ranchi and will rest before the neighbours arrive for their tour of India. The BCCI Committee will consider whether captain Virat Kohli will play or be rested in the series as he has played extensively since the World Cup.

Bangladesh players' strike

Bangladesh's tour, however, seems doubtful since the players are currently protesting against the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) over multiple reasons. The players have submitted 11 point-demand list to the board and most of them are focused on improving on the financial conditions of the players. They have demanded for an organized calendar for domestic tournaments and better facilities for training and stays at better hotels. They have also asked for the payment of dues from the Dhaka Premier League and more than two NOCs to play in overseas franchise leagues

The players called a press conference and listed out the issues. The players stated that they will not be participating in any on-field activities until the demands are met by the officials.

The BCB board, on Tuesday, called for an emergency meeting in order to discuss the issue and to arrive at a solution. Meanwhile, Sourav Ganguly, the Chief-elect of BCCI sounded confident of the tour and said that they will come for the scheduled tour. Ganguly, when asked about the issues said, "It's an internal matter, they will sort it out." and did not delve much on the issue.
