The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) via its official Twitter handle wished ace Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir on the occasion of his 38th birthday. The BCCI in the tweet also shared a video of the batsman's impressive knock against Sri Lanka in 2009.

About Gautam Gambhir:
Gautam Gambhir has played all formats of cricket. He is currently a Lok Sabha Member of Parliament and a member of the BJP. During his cricketing years, he was a left-handed batsman who represented Delhi in the local cricket scene and captained the Kolkata Knight Riders and Delhi Daredevils in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He made his ODI debut against Bangladesh in 2003 and played his first Test in 2004 against Australia. He captained the Indian side in six ODI's from 2010 to 2011, with India winning all six matches. He played an integral part in India's epic wins in the finals of both the 2007 World Twenty20 and the 2011 Cricket World Cup. Under Gambhir's captaincy, Kolkata Knight Riders won their first IPL title in 2012 and went on to win the title again in 2014. Gambhir was the only Indian and one of four international cricketers to have scored hundreds in five consecutive Test matches. In 2019, he received the Padma Shri from the Government of India, the fourth highest civilian award in India. In December 2018, he announced his retirement from all forms of cricket.
