World Cup-winning England all-rounder Ben Stokes lost a bet to his older brother James. The two had made a bet that James can face six deliveries from Ben without getting dismissed and much to the shock of the England all-rounder, his brother managed to survive the over.
Speaking to a leading New Zealand media network, James said that was quick and finally New Zealand got a win after their victory over England in the second T20I. He added that it was the first time in over 20 years that he had faced a ball from his younger brother.
Ben Stokes failed to dismiss older brother James
Ben Stokes posted on Twitter that James had made a bet that he could survive an over from his brother. He then posted footage of the six deliveries in the nets in Christchurch to his story. In the video, James shows he’s got a decent forward defence, some good judgement with leave and an ability to drop the hands after Ben Stokes couldn’t resist testing him out with a short ball as the rest of the Stokes family cheered him on.

In another post on Instagram, Stokes brothers embraced after the last ball with Stokes captioning “Battle of the bro’s....why does the older bro always have to win”
Before the incident, Ben Stokes had joked that his brother was on YouTube watching videos of former England opener Alastair Cook in preparation for the over.
Stokes has been rested from the ongoing T20 series vs New Zealand. He will join the team back for the Test series against the Kiwis which is slated to start from November 21.
