IND vs BAN: Yuvraj Singh makes a huge statement about Shubman Gill

Shubman Gill, India's star opener, put on a great show during an exciting Super 4 match at the Asia Cup on Friday night. Gill almost single-handedly kept the Indian team's dreams alive as they tried to beat Bangladesh's tough 266-run target. Even though he scored 121 runs in an amazing century, the Indian team lost by only six runs because they couldn't get going on the other end. This was Gill's fifth century in an ODI game, and it was his fourth this year. He was the team's centre. He faced 133 balls and hit eight fours and five sixes while facing them.

During the whole game, Gill did not give up and made important partnerships, first with KL Rahul (19) and then with Suryakumar Yadav (26). But the bowlers from Bangladesh broke up these partnerships over and over again by taking wickets at key times. Gill kept being bold even after he had reached his century. He hit Mahedi Hasan for a huge six over mid-wicket. But the bowler acted quickly and caught Gill out on the very next ball.

During his turn, Gill tried a shot from the air by lofting a full toss over mid-off. He didn't make it over the boundary, though, and Towhid Hridoy caught him at the long-off boundary. As Gill walked back to the stand, it was clear that he was upset with his shot. Notably, former Indian bowler Yuvraj Singh, who is a close companion with the young player, gave Gill some wise advice.

Shubman Gill looks to give a great performance against Sri Lanka

Shubman Gill will be looking forward to continuing his golden run in the Asia Cup and taking Team India to victory with another scintillating knock. So far, Shubman Gill has scored 275 runs in 5 innings at an average of 68.75 which includes 1 century and 2 half-centuries.
