In a historic decision, Eden Gardens Kolkata will host the first-ever pink ball day-night Test match under the lights in India from November 22 to 26, after Bangladesh Cricket Board agreed on the proposal. BCCI President Sourav Ganguly had requested the BCB on late Sunday if they were keen to as it was high time that the two-nations played Day-Night Test match.
Former Cricketer Aakash Chopra and Cricketer commentator Harsha Bhogle were the first few from the Cricket Fraternity to come forward and hail this decision by the new BCCI President Sourav Ganguly.

Bit of history. India to play its first day/night test in Kolkata against Bangladesh starting Oct 22. The timings will be interesting to see given that you don't want dew to have a major say. But this is a beginning and the first sign of change post @SGanguly99 becoming president

#Pinkballtest confirmed. Thanks @SGanguly99 for this 🙏 . That’s what you call decision making and that’s why leader is required. Now you can imagine what we lost in last so many years.

Many in the Indian camp including coach Ravi Shastri were not too keen to experiment but finally agreed, even as captain Virat Kohli agreed to BCCI president Sourav Ganguly's proposal when they met on the selection day.
