'Don't rule them out': India legend fires warning to Rohit Sharma ahead of Asia Cup 2023
While everyone is talking about India and Pakistan as the favorites to win the Asia Cup 2023 title, legendary Sunil Gavaskar names 1 more team in the reckoning.

Asia Cup is all set to commence from 30th August with Pakistan taking on against Nepal in the opening encounter. The most awaited match between India and Pakistan will take place on 2nd September and both the teams are pipped to be the favorites to lift the title this time as both of these teams have a settled squad in all the departments. Legendary cricketer Sunil Gavaskar recently shared his views on which team is the favorite to lift the coveted Asia Cup title this time.

Sunil Gavaskar gives cautious advice to Rohit Sharma & Co.
Former India captain Sunil Gavaskar was asked during an event about his favorites to lift the title of Asia Cup 2023 and to which he responded that he was very much looking forward to Team India's performance and will be hooting for Rohit Sharma led men in blue to win however he said that Pakistan also has a strong side this time and they can be a serious challenge. Sunil Gavaskar also said that one should not rule Sri Lanka and their ability to successfully defend the title.
"In the Asia Cup, we are talking about India-Pakistan rivalry... But don't forget Sri Lanka are also there, and they have been winning the Asia Cup. The rivalry between these three countries is always something special."
Sri Lanka suffers massive jolt ahead of Asia Cup 2023
In yet another blow to Sri Lanka ahead of the Asia Cup, fast bowler Dilshan Madushanka has been ruled out of the continental tournament. Madushanka sustained a torn oblique muscle during a practice match last Friday, casting doubts on his ability to recover in time for the upcoming World Cup. Madushanka joins the list of other Sri Lankan injured players which includes Lahiru Kumara, Dushmantha Chameera and Wanindu Hasaranga. In their absence, Sri Lanka may have to rely on the likes of Kasun Rajitha and Maheesha Pathirana.
