Dwayne Bravo blasts ex-West Indies cricket administration

West Indies cricket team defeated Afghanistan in the second ODI to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series. With the win, West Indies also registered their first-ever ODI series victory since defeating Bangladesh 3-0 at home in 2014. In the second game of the series, West Indies batted first and posted 247-9 and later shot-out the Afghanistan batting line-up for just 200.

Dwayne Bravo blasts ex-West Indies cricket administration in Instagram post

Former West Indian all-rounder Dwayne Bravo took to Instagram to congratulate the team for their series win. West Indies’ 2012 and 2016 ICC World Twenty20 winning member congratulated newly-appointed skipper Kieron Pollard for his leadership. In his video, Bravo also took jabs at the previous West Indies cricket administration by saying that the game in the Caribbean has suffered at the hands of ‘vindictive’ people. He hinted that the ex-administration was bent on cutting short careers of many cricketers by keeping them away from the team.

Both West Indies and Afghanistan cricket teams are currently on a tour to India to play three ODIs, three T20Is and one Test match against each other. As per ICC regulations, India will be hosting home games for Afghanistan and the ongoing series will also provide a home advantage to the Rashid Khan-led side. The series will now continue with a dead-rubber third ODI, which would then be followed three T20Is between November 14 and 17. The only Test match of the tour will start from November 27 onwards and unlike other Tests these days, the upcoming five-day affair between the two nations will not form a part of the ongoing ICC World Test Championship. All matches are scheduled to be played at the Ekana International Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.
