Ex-BCCI President unveils his ODI WC squad, omits a major player from his 15-man squad
Former BCCI president Sourav Ganguly has come up with his squad of Team India in the upcoming edition of the ODI World Cup 2023.

Ahead of the Asia Cup 2023, the Indian cricket team selection committee, headed by Ajit Agarkar, announced the squad for the upcoming Asian event on August 21, 2023. The Indian team, led by Rohit Sharma, will gather in Bangalore seven days prior to the Asia Cup and then will fly to Colombo for the upcoming multi-nation Asian event. As per the selectors, the probable squad for the upcoming ODI World Cup 2023 will depend upon the players selected for the Asia Cup 2023.

Sourav Ganguly picks his ODI World Cup 2023 squad

While speaking on Star Sports, former BCCI president and cricketer Sourav Ganguly picked his squad for the upcoming ODI World Cup 2023. Ganguly has left out middle-order batsman Tilak Varma and wicketkeeper Sanju Samson from his team. The 2023 edition of the ODI World Cup will begin on October 5, 2023, at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The former Indian opener also dropped Prasidh Krishna in the pace department and has also kept Chahal in the option. Sourav Ganguly said:
If one of the batters gets injured, then Tilak Varma can enter, while if the pacer gets injured, then it’s Prasidh Krishna, while in the case of spinner, Yuzvendra Chahal is the option.

Team India aims to end 10-year-old ICC title drought
The Indian cricket team will aim to end their ICC title drought in the upcoming ODI World Cup 2023. India, being the host of the tournament, will be looking to repeat the 2011 World Cup heroics, which they won under the leadership of former Indian skipper and wicketkeeper batter MS Dhoni.
