Ex-England player picks his potential ODI World Cup winner with 'complete package' remark

Team India led by Rohit Sharma will be beginning their ODI World Cup campaign against Australia on October 8 at the M. A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The Indian team recently registered a thumping win against Sri Lanka in the finals of the Asia Cup 2023 by ten wickets and won their eighth title of the tournament. Team India pacer Mohammed Siraj was adjudged the Player of the Match for his match-winning spell of 6/21 in 7 overs,

Dominic Cork impressed with Indian team's performance in the 2023 Asia Cup 

Former English cricket team pacer Dominic Cork who was also a part of the commentary panel for the Asia Cup 2023, has heaped praise for the Indian cricket team's performance in the multination Asian tournament. As per Cork, the Indian cricket team was dominant in the Asia Cup. Dominic Cork said on Sky Sports: 

We watch a lot of India and Pakistan, you know, we all do. The PSL, so we know what Pakistan cricket is like and how strong that is. But being around, you know, the Bangladesh team, the Sri Lankan team, the Afghanistan team. It was a really good tournament and obviously, India won it in the end. Quite comprehensively, bowling Sri Lanka out for 50 in an extraordinary game. Yeah, every ball swung, every pitch we played on a little bit of bounce, a little bit of carrying them, a little bit of spin. It was perfect conditions and some really good performances throughout.

Cork doesn't take Pakistan as the contender for winning the ODI World Cup 

Speaking further on Sky Sports Dominic Cork highlighted Pakistan's dismal performance in the Asia Cup 2023. Cork stated that Pakistan have no chance of winning the ODI World Cup. The former English pacer further considered Team India as a complete package in the ODI World Cup. 

Who's looking good there? India and Pakistan are just looking like I know him a look. discombobulated? I think that's the word. I'm looking for this. Discombobulated. I think that's the word I was looking for. I just think the way that you look at Pakistan and think they'd have no chance in the World Cup, You know, you could never write them off. But when you look at India, they just look like a complete package. And you've got people who want on their side. Shreyas Iyer won't be on their side. The likes of Suryakumar Yadav will miss out. 

The ODI World Cup has returned to India after a span of 12 years and the Indian cricket team being the hosts of the tournament will aim to repeat the 2011 ODI World Cup winning triumph.
