Rishabh Pant was seen as an ideal replacement for the legendary cricketer MS Dhoni once upon a time. However, a string of poor performances which included some rash shots that were played whenever the youngster got set annoyed the fans and the cricketing fraternity and they criticised him for wasting his chances. When the Indian Test squad for the ongoing series against South Africa was announced, the selectors preferred Wriddhiman Saha over Pant. Saha could not impress in the first Test at Vizag but in the following Test at Pune, he took some spectacular catches which not only won the hearts of the fans but also made them feel concerned about Rishabh Pant.
Fans concerned about Pant
After Saha lived up to the selectors' expectations with his amazing athleticism behind the stumps, some fans came forward to show their concern for Rishabh Pant. While some of the reactions were hilarious, there were some serious ones as well. Take a look.

Saha had a wonderful match behind the stumps and his two catches were considered as the best in the match. After the match, the wicket-keeper said that the bowlers bowl at him during training which gives him good practice with the moving ball and credit fitness trainers for keeping him fit. He also added that trainers help out with stretches, ice-baths, and train him for the match-day really well giving the credit for his fitness as well as wicket-keeping performance.
India win the Test series
Apart from a dominating performance by India, the match will also be remembered for wicket-keeper Wriddhiman Saha's two outstanding catches, which helped India seal a 2-0 series win. He caught Theunis de Bruyn in both the South African innings as India handed an innings defeat to the Proteas to win the three-match Test series 2-0. By the virtue of this win, India continue to be at the summit of the ICC World Test Championship points table. The top-ranked Test side led by Virat Kohli remain undisputed in the ranking with 200 points from four matches. No other team is even close as New Zealand and Sri Lanka with 60 points each occupy the second and third positions respectively.
