Bengal cricketer Manoj Tiwary on October 31, reacted to former Indian cricketer Farokh Engineer's statement after he profusely apologised to Anushka Sharma. Farokh said his comments were directed more towards the Indian selectors, who had gone beyond their dignity to serve tea & coffee to the Indian captain's wife.

Manoj wrote in his tweet, “That’s a low blow from Farook Engineer. A statement like this makes u think a lot of things”

Here is a look at his tweet:

Former Indian wicketkeeper Farokh Engineer lashed out at the Indian selection committee headed by MSK Prasad. This was not the first time that India’s selection panel had faced wrath from a former Indian cricketer. Previously, Sunil Gavaskar had also quoted them as “lame ducks” when the selectors had announced the squad for the West Indies tour earlier this year without having a team meeting.

Indian selectors were brought under the scanner when they had dropped Ambati Rayudu and picked Vijay Shankar in the World Cup squad instead. Now, Farokh has made some strong claims about the selection committee and also revealed a hilarious activity of the Indian selectors at the mega event.

Speaking to a leading media daily, Farokh recalled an incident that happened during the World Cup 2019, where he had seen a person wearing Indian blazer serving tea to Anushka Sharma, which surprised him. He said he didn’t even know him until he asked that person who he was, to which the person came and introduced himself as one of the Indian selectors.

The former wicket-keeper said that Indian selectors were less qualified in terms of their cricket experience as no member had played more than 20 matches in any format for the country.
