Former India wicketkeeper-batsman Kiran More makes a bold statement about Rinku Singh while leading the series 1-0. The expert told Jio Cinema that he is looking forward to seeing the Kolkata Night Rider batsman face Ireland. However, rain interrupted the excitement, and the match was determined using the DLS method during over 6.5 of India's innings. 

KKR's Rinku Singh had an outstanding IPL 2023 performance. The batter did not participate in the series against the West Indies. Nonetheless, he is scheduled to compete for Ireland and is also a member of the Asian Games squad.

On Sunday, August 20, 2023, Team India will play Ireland in the second T20I. Kiran More stated that Rinku Singh could be the next MS Dhoni or Yuvraj Singh for India if he utilises this opportunity to leave his mark on the team through this match. Speaking about Rinku Singh, he said,

"I have been waiting for his opportunity in the Indian team. And that batting position, of No.5 and 6, he will perform well in that spot and can end up being a brilliant finisher. We all have seen MS Dhoni and Yuvraj Singh. After that we haven't got a player like them. We tried making such players, but it didn't work so far. Tilak Varma is also there, he too can perform that role. Rinku is also a brilliant fielder. And I have seen him in domestic cricket as well, he has improved a lot I feel," 

When will India’s squad for the Asia Cup be announced?

According to reports, India’s squad for the upcoming Asia Cup is set to be announced on Sunday. The BCCI hasn't made any official statements, though. India will open their continental encounter against Pakistan on September 2, 2023, and will later play against Nepal to finish their group matches.
