'He's a batting freak': Rohit Sharma has special praise for India youngster after Asia Cup

Indian cricket team batter Shubman Gill finished as the highest run-getter in the Asia Cup 2023 after Team India thrashed Sri Lanka by ten wickets in the final of the tournament. Gill scored a total of 302 runs from six innings of six matches at a strike rate of 93.50 and an average of 75.50. Gill remained unbeaten on 27 runs in the IND vs SL Asia Cup 2023 final and guided Team India to their quickest ODI win.

Rohit Sharma's words of praise for Shubman Gill 

After the Indian cricket team defeated Sri Lanka in the finals of the Asia Cup 2023, Team India skipper Rohit Sharma praised the Indian team batter Shubman Gill for his wonderful batting performance in the Asia Cup 2023. As per Rohit, Gill is a batting freak and he likes to bat, which is something very good for the team. Rohit Sharma said: 

Also Gill, he's in terrific form, he's a batting freak. He likes to keep batting and it's something that works for our team. A lot of the guys at various stages bailed the team out in pressure situations.

Who opens for the Indian team in the ODI World Cup? 

The Indian cricket team is all set to begin their Asia Cup 2023 campaign against Australia on October 8 at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. However, ahead of the major tournament, the Indian team management will have a tough task in their hands and choose Rohit Sharma's opening partner. 

The Indian team management has two opening options for the ODI World Cup, which are Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan. Both the players performed exceptionally well on the given opportunities in the Asia Cup 2023 and deserve to the Rohit's opening partner. Though, the management, might pick Gill as the opener whereas Kishan might play in the middle order.
