India defeated Pakistan in their Super Fours Asia Cup 2023 match on Monday. India won the clash by a margin of 228 runs, securing a massive victory over arch-rivals Pakistan in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Virat Kohli and KL Rahul shone with the bat, while Kuldeep Yadav picked up a five-wicket haul to his name as India restricted Pakistan to 128/8 in 32 overs. Earlier, the Men in Blue posted 356/2 in 50 overs after being asked to bat first. Kohli and Rahul both scored centuries and remained unbeaten in the innings.

The Rohit Sharma-led side is being hailed for its dominating show in the match that spanned over two days. The first day of the game was interrupted by rain resulting, causing the match to be moved to the reserve day. India started Day 2 with a bang as Kohli and Rahul smashed a century each. Virat Kohli, with an impressive 122 not out, and K L Rahul, equally formidable with his unbeaten 111, powered India to a commanding total of 356/2. Iftikhar Ahmed, although a part-time spinner, struggled on the bowling front, conceding 52 runs in 5.4 overs. He ended up as the second most expensive bowler for Pakistan, following Shaheen Shah Afridi, who gave away 79 runs in his 10-over spell.

In response, Pakistan's innings folded at 128 runs in just 32 overs. Haris Rauf and Naseem Shah did not bat in the innings due to injury concerns. Kuldeep Yadav emerged as the standout bowler for India, clinching a five-wicket haul.
