'I remember Yuvi calling me': Rohit Sharma narrates unheard Yuvraj Singh tale
For the first time in eleven months the Indian cricket team will be playing with its full strength team in the upcoming Asia Cup 2023.
The Indian cricket team selection committee made a lot of shocking decisions while picking up the national squad for Asia Cup 2023. The selection committee led by Ajit Agarkar snubbed players like Yuzvendra Chahal, Shikhar Dhawan and Bhuvneshwar Kumar, whereas, KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer were included in the team. The selectors further cleared that the Indian team's probable ODI World Cup 2023 squad will be based on the players included in the squad for the Asia Cup.

Rohit Sharma shares an unknown ODI World Cup 2011 story about Yuvraj Singh
Team India skipper Rohit Sharma was not included in the Indian squad for the 2011 ODI World Cup. The Indian team went on to lift the trophy under the leadership of MS Dhoni, and all-rounder Yuvraj Singh was adjudged Player of the Tournament. However, while speaking to PTI in an interview, Rohit opened up on an unheard story about him and Yuvraj.
Rohit Sharma revealed how Yuvraj Singh called him for dinner after he was not included in the Indian squad for the ODI World Cup 2011. Rohit explained how Yuvraj explained to him about the feeling of being dropped from the team. Rohit Sharma said:
I was sad and sitting in my room and didn't know what to do next. I remember Yuvi (Yuvraj Singh) calling me to his room and taking me out for dinner. He explained to me how it feels when you are left out. He told me, 'the best thing is that you have so many years in-front of you.
As we play in the World Cup, you take this chance to work hard on your game, skills and make a comeback. There is no way that you won't play for India or not get a chance to play in the World Cup.
Rohit Sharma shares his feeling after being dropped from the ODI World Cup squad
Speaking further in the interview, Rohit Sharma opened up on the feeling of being dropped from the World Cup squad and said that no one can explain the feeling better than him as he has already gone through that phase. Rohit Sharma said:
I went back to the drawing board, worked hard and immediately after the World Cup, I made a comeback and it has been good since then. Since this is me, who has gone through this emotion, no one can tell me that "easier said than done". I have faced exclusion in a World Cup, and I know how it exactly feels.
Rohit Sharma was India's leading run scorer in the ODI World Cup 2019 and hit a total of five tons. However, he played as an opening batter, but now he has the job of leading the side and also carrying the expectations of 140 crore Indians.
