In the ongoing Freedom Trophy series between two nations, the Indian team is yet to put a foot wrong as the hosts lead 2-0 over the visitors. The final Test match of the series will be held between October 19 and 23 at the JSCA Stadium in Ranchi. The ongoing championship started on August 1 with two oldest cricketing rivals resuming their Ashes rivalry.

In Sri Lanka during the same month, the Lankan team hosted New Zealand in a two-match series which also ended in a draw. On August 22, West Indies and India launched their World Test Championship campaign in the Caribbean in a series completely dominated by the Virat Kohli-led side.
