Imam-ul-Haq whines about nepotism tag, claims he cries when Pak loses
Pakistan cricketer Imam-ul-Haq has revealed that Pakistan fans will never accept him and will always take his presence in the team because of Inzamam-ul-Haq.
Pakistan cricketer Imam-ul-Haq has revealed that Pakistan fans will never accept him as a player and will always take his presence in the team because of Inzamam-ul-Haq's influence, he said according to media reports. The Pakistani batsman has been criticized on multiple occasions by fans who believe that he made it to the national side only because of the influence of former selector and relative Inzamam-ul-Haq. Imam-ul-Haq believes that Pakistani fans would never accept him as a good player and will always associate his name with his uncle's. The batsman also defended his position in the team and said that his performance had cemented a place for him in the side and not influence.
Imam-ul-Haq says he 'cries' whenever Pakistan lose
Reacting to the nepotism tag associated with his name, Imam-ul-Haq said that Pakistan fans would never accept him and that it will never change, unfortunately. The top-order batsman said that he would be pleased if people accept him as Imam-ul-Haq rather than being known as Inzamam-ul-Haq's niece. He further added that it was impossible for him to be a part of the national side without putting in the hard work and that it was all before the media, whose eyes he said no one could escape. Imam-ul-Haq said that he cries a lot whenever Pakistan loses and that he feels bad for Babar Azam and Mohammad Amir whenever they are criticized and said that he knew how much efforts they put in to give their best for the team.
Imam-ul-Haq apologises
The Pakistan opener, whose place in the side has always been under the scanner for allegedly being a product of nepotism, found himself in trouble when a few women posted screenshots of his objectionable WhatsApp conversations with them and accused him of misleading them. "Imam was remorseful and has apologized for what all has happened. But we have told him in clear terms although this is his personal and private matter but we expect our players to adhere to the highest standards of ethics and discipline," PCB MD Wasim Khan said on Monday. Wasim said the board had viewed the matter seriously and spoken to Imam about it. "We don't like to comment on personal affairs of a player but we expect that our centrally contracted players will also show more responsibility being ambassadors of Pakistan cricket and Pakistan. Hopefully, we will not see such incidents again."
