Indian captain Virat Kohli started Day 3 by declaring on their overnight score of 493-6. With a solid grip in the game, the hosts hold a first-innings advantage of 343 runs over Bangladesh. Among the Indian batsmen, Mayank Agarwal top-scored with 243 as he slammed his third Test century and his second 200+ score. Incidentally, all his Test centuries have come in the ongoing Indian home season. Mominul Haque-led Bangladesh are now left with a mountain to climb as they need to score at least 343 to make India bat again in the game.

Indian bowlers dominate again on Day 3
The Indian pacers wreaked havoc again, just as they have done throughout the home season. Umesh Yadav, who entertained the crowd with a whirlwind 10 ball-25 on Day 2, castled opening batsman Imrul Kayes on the morning of Day 3. Going for an ambitious drive, Kayes could only manage an inside edge onto the stumps. Ishant Sharma then scalped Shadman Islam for just 6 to send both their openers packing. Mohammed Shami then joined the party as he trapped Bangladesh skipper Mominul Haque in front of stumps. He also accounted for Mohammad Mithun’s dismissal as the visitors were left reeling at 44-4 at one stage. Mushfiqur Rahim and Mahmudullah then safely negotiated the remaining deliveries as Bangladesh reach 60-4 in a 22-over morning session on Day 3. With just 6 wickets in hand, the visitors now trail the Indian team by another 283 runs.
