The Test series will be the second edition of Ganguly-Durjoy Trophy between the two nations and it will also form a part of the ongoing inaugural ICC World Test Championship.

The tour kicked off with the opening match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. The visiting team won the toss and decided to field first. India posted 148-6 in 20 overs with Shikhar Dhawan top-scoring the innings. In reply, Bangladesh chased down the target with three balls to spare. Mushfiqur Rahim’s unbeaten 60 from 43 balls ensured the visitors crossed the finish line and took a 1-0 lead in the series.
