India continued their dominant display of cricket as they defeated South Africa by an innings and 137 runs in Pune. In the ongoing Freedom Trophy series between two nations, the Indian team has taken an unassailable lead of 2-0 over the visitors. India had score 601 for 5 in the first innings and bundled out the visitors for 275 as the hosts gained a 326-run lead. By the virtue of this win, the Virat Kohli-led side is still at the summit of the ICC World Test Championship points table.

The third and final Test will be played in Ranchi from October 19. South Africa will play for their pride and try to secure a win. India will look to clean sweep the Proteas and further strengthen their position on the ICC Test Championship points table.
