Jaydev Unadkat has not been in the news for the right reasons since the last couple of years. After he had shone for the now-defunct Rising Pune Supergiant in the 2017 edition of the IPL where they had reached the finals. In the following year, Unadkat was roped in by Rajasthan Royals for a whopping Rs.11.5 Crore but could not do justice to his huge price tag. Nonetheless, he was retained by the same franchise for Rs.8.4 Crore and the pacer failed to live up to the expectations. Meanwhile, Unadkat had another miserable day but this time, it was with the bat.
Unadkat suffers a brain fade with the bat
This happened during a Deodhar Trophy match between India A and India B at Ranchi. Chasing a target of 303, the match was all but over for India A and it only got worse for them when Jaydev Unadkat was run out in the most comical fashion that one can get to see on the final ball of the 43rd over. He had defended the last ball of Shahbaz Nadeem and by coming out of his crease. Nonetheless, it seemed that he was walking in the park as he was not at all aware of what was going on. Sensing an opportunity, Kedar Jadhav who had picked the ball at short cover threw it back to the wicketkeeper Parthiv Patel who dislodged the bails and Undakat's stay at the crease ended in the most unfortunate yet bizarre manner. ''Jaydev Unadkat was caught napping'', said a commentator on air. The video of this brain fade moment was posted on social media. Watch the video right here.
