Indian cricket team pacer Mohammed Siraj blew away the Sri Lanka batting line and the Asia Cup 2023 co-hosts were bundled for a score of 50 runs in their first innings. Siraj ended the first innings with figures of 6/21 in seven overs and also created many records. The Indian team needed 51 runs to lift their eighth Asia Cup title. They reached target in just 6.1 overs.

Mohammed Siraj picked up a total of six wickets in the IND vs SL Asia Cup 2023 finals and proved his dominance at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. However, amidst the Sri Lankan batting crisis, during the 14th over of the Sri Lanka innings, Indian batter Virat Kohli gave away five unnecessary runs with an overthrow.

Mohammed Siraj destroyed Sri Lanka in Colombo 

After electing to bat first in the India vs Sri Lanka Asia Cup 2023 final, the Dasun Shanaka-led side didn't start off well and lost their first wicket in the form of Kusal Perera to Jasprit Burmah. However, Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj overshadowed Bumrah's first wicket and removed four Sri Lanka batters in the fourth over. Siraj was the first Indian pacer to pick four wickets in an over across formats. However, the 'Hyderabad Express' didn't stop there and completed his fifer in just 15 balls. This was the quickest by any bowler across all formats.
