Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauds 'Women in Blue' after Asian Games glory

Prime Minister Narendra Modi never leaves a chance to laud and praise the efforts of the Indian athletes after they bring laurels to the country. After the Indian women's cricket team won gold in the 2022 Asian Games, PM Modi went to his 'X' account and congratulated the Harmanpreet Kaur-led side. PM Modi's tweet read:

Tisha Sadhu help Team India win first ever Asian Games gold medal

The Indian women's cricket team under the leadership of Harmanpreet Kaur started off their innings pretty well and batters Smriti Mandhana and Jemimah Rodrigues played innings of 46 and 42 runs respectively. Other than Mandhana and Rodrigues no Indian batter was able to stay at the crease for long and scored runs in single digits. However, the Indian team was able to post a fighting total of 117 runs.  Indian pacer Titas Sadhu picked up a three-wicket haul and broke the backbone of the Sri Lankan batting line up. Apart from Sadhu other Indian bowlers also contributed to the team's win and helped in bringing glory to the country.
