Earlier this year, Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians side defeated MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings in a thrilling final to claim their fourth IPL title win. With the win, Mumbai Indians also became IPL’s most successful franchise, having won four IPL titles and two Champions League Twenty20 tournaments.

Among the changes made by the star-studded franchise before the upcoming auction on December 19, MI team management released cricketer Mayank Markande to Delhi Capitals. In exchange, they roped in West Indian T20 specialist Sherfane Rutherford for the upcoming season.
