'Rohit, Dravid destroying Sanju Samson's career': Indian team management gets called out

Sanju Samson's stop-start ODI career was expected to take a steep flight in West Indies but the wicketkeeper was ignored once again as Ishan Kishan made the cut in the 1st ODI. Rishabh Pant's injury means there will be a place up for grabs in the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup and this ODI series could be Samson's last shot at getting the nod. But having already missed the 1st ODI, he now stands a very slender chance as Ishan Kishan is likely to be KL Rahul's deputy in the wicketkeeping role. Samson's unfortunate selection saga hasn't been a new case as he has faced the situation before.

Sanju Samson was ignored again as India took on West Indies in the 1st match

Irrespective of his form, it can be argued that unlike most of the other players, he hasn't got ample opportunities to prove his case and time is quickly running out for him. The 28-year-old's last stint in an ODI match came back against New Zealand last year and if he further misses out on a place in the 2nd ODI it could be a huge challenge for him to reinstate his name in an India shirt.

Despite Suryakumar Yadav's repeated failures, he hasn't lost his place and fans have now called out the selection process on social media.
