Pakistan cricketer Umar Akmal has a new unfortunate record to his name with the maximum number of first-ball ducks in Twenty20 International. This unwanted record was made in the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore where Pakistan was playing its second 20-20 match against Sri Lanka. Tillakaratne Dilshan of Sri Lanka, Shahid Afridi of Pakistan and Mashrafe Mortaza of Bangladesh come after Umar Akmal for the number of most first-ball ducks in the T-20 International. All the other three have been dismissed 5 times for a first-ball duck. Akmal currently has 10 ducks in the 84 International matches that he played so far for Pakistan Cricket Team.
Pakistan loses series against Sri Lanka
The batsman now also has a record for the highest number of ducks in a Twenty20 International match. The last time he played a match for his country was against West Indies in Abu Dhabi in the year 2016. In both the T-20 matches against Sri Lanka in the ongoing series, he did not score a single run and got out. In the second 20-20, Sri Lanka scored 182/6 after they opted to bat first. Sri Lanka's Bhanuka Rajapaksa scored the highest with 77 off just 48 balls. Pakistan lost the match since they could not chase the target of 183 and scored 147 runs. Sri Lanka won the series of three matches, with winning two matches in a row. They still have a match left to play with Pakistan on October 9. Pakistan is presently the best team in the world in the shortest format of cricket.
