Pakistan will be hosting Sri Lanka in the second ODI of the three-match series that began on 27 September. The first match was washed off because of torrential rains in Karachi. Monday's clash was initially scheduled for Sunday but got pushed back when the first match got cancelled. Here are the broadcast details of the match.
Where to watch?
The match coverage will begin at 3:30 PM on Sony SIX and Sony SIX HD. Online streaming will be available on Sony LIV. In case you miss the match, you can watch the match highlights at 11:30 PM on Sony SIX. Sony LIV also has pre-shows and press conferences available on its platform.
What next?
After Monday's ODI, Pakistan and Sri Lanka will play a final ODI in Karachi on 2 October 2019. The timings for the match will be the same. After that, the teams will move on to playing the three-match T20 series at Lahore.
What to expect?
This tour holds a lot of importance for the Cricket Board of Pakistan. It was 10 years ago that the Sri Lankan team got attacked at Lahore and since then, there has been almost no international cricket in Pakistan. The team had to adopt the UAE as its 'home' and matches have barely been played in the country. The last ODI series that was hosted in Pakistan was the Pakistan tour of Zimbabwe, all the way back in 2015. The Karachi stadium has not witnessed international cricket in a decade and Sri Lanka's visit also almost didn't happen.
Issues with the Sri Lankan squad
Sri Lanka, being the team which was at the centre of the attacks in 2009, has been reluctant along in visiting Pakistan along with other teams. Although the Cricket Board of Sri Lanka verified Pakistan's security efforts, players were given an option to sit out without any negative consequences. As a result, the ODI captain Dimuth Karunaratne and the T20 captain Lasith Malinga along with eight other players chose to not participate in the tournament.
