Ashwin posts a cryptic tweet amid World Cup tickets controversy

The highly anticipated clash between India and Pakistan in the Super 4 stage of the Asia Cup 2023 has once again been interrupted by rain. During their group stage match, the second innings couldn't be completed, resulting in a washed-out game. However, there's a glimmer of hope for the second fixture because even if the rain washes out the first day, a Reserve Day has been allocated for this iconic match.

Ravichandran Ashwin, the star spinner of the Indian cricket team, reassured fans with his tweet this morning, suggesting that there may not be a rain threat in Colombo. However, Ashwin's prediction failed to live through as rain started pouring heavily when India's innings was underway. Ashwin also talked about the availability of tickets for the game. Ashwin tweeted, "That’s as pretty a morning as one can get for an #INDvsPAK clash. Lots of tickets are still available online for the game. #AsiaCup2023."

Controversy surrounding IND vs PAK World Cup match tickets

Ashwin's tweet has come amid the ongoing controversy regarding the poor scheduling of the World Cup and the sale of its tickets via BookMyShow. Cricket fans have been facing a lot of difficulties in availing tickets for the marquee ICC event, which is scheduled to be held in India from October 5 to November 19. Ashwin is not part of the Indian squad for the ongoing Asia Cup 2023. Ashwin has also been snubbed from India's 15-member ODI World Cup squad.
