Cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar took to the tennis and badminton courts as he celebrated National Sports Day and supported the 'Fit India' movement
We've seen Sachin Tendulkar swing the Cricket bat to great effect over the decades, but now, the icon has given us a glimpse into whether he can be similarly proficient in other sports. Sachin swapped his cricket bat for tennis and badminton racquets in a game he played with his friends, a video of which he has posted on Thursday morning. In the post, Tendulkar was seen taking up the racquet sports and having fun as he celebrated National Sports Day with Vinod Kambli and others.

In a minute-long video, Tendulkar is seen trying out various shots in the tennis court, such as the service, forehand, backhand etc. It seemed like his great cricketing touch hadn't left him as a lot of those shots were taking to the air! Tendulkar was playing with his old-time friend and former cricketer Vinod Kambli. Then, Sachin and his pals hit an indoor badminton court where again, they knocked a few games having fun but also added some competitiveness. Tendulkar remarked that spending a day out, challenging friends is not only fun but also has an added advantage making one fit. He also used the hashtag for the #FitIndiaMovement which Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched in New Delhi earlier in the day with the aim of including fitness and sports in citizens' lives on a daily basis.

In another tweet, Sachin is seen playing cricket on the sets of a shoot. The batting maestro is interrupted as Varun Dhawan and later Abhishek Bachan joined him as well. The three of them soon decided to play a small Cricket match, which Tendulkar declared to be a draw. Sachin was seen bowling in the match and also allowing a young kid to bowl, encouraging him and appreciating his deliveries.
India is on Thursday celebrating National Sports Day to commemorate the birth anniversary of hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand. Dhyan Chand won four Olympic medals for India and scored over 400 goals for the country. He was often called a 'wizard' for his touch, control, creativity and was also known for his leadership.
