Sachin Tendulkar hails Team India after a convincing win over SA
Sachin Tendulkar came forward to congratulate Team India after their convincing win over South Africa. India beat the Proteas by 203 runs to win the first Test.
Sachin Tendulkar bid adieu to international cricket after having played his 200th Test match at the Wankhede Stadium back in 2013 but he still continues to focus on the game and each and every match of Team India. Even in the first of the three-match Test series against South Africa, he was keeping an eye on the top-ranked Test side's performance and especially on Rohit Sharma.
Tendulkar congratulates Team India

By the virtue of this huge win, India have collected 40 valuable points in the ICC World Test Championship points table. Virat Kohli & Co. continue to top the points table with 160 points in three matches. They also maintain a 100% win record as of now.
India puncture Proteas' spirit
Chasing a target of 395, South Africa were 11/1 at stumps and when they resumed their innings on Day 5, their chase never really took off as the Indian bowlers picked up wickets at regular intervals reducing them to 70/8. Just when it appeared that Virat Kohli & Co. would wrap things up very quickly, two of the lower-order batsmen Senuran Muthusamy and Dane Piedt delayed the inevitable with a 91-run stand for the ninth wicket. Dane Piedt was castled by Mohammed Shami for a well-made 56 while Muthusamy remained unbeaten on 49 as the visitors were bundled out for 191. Ravindra Jadeja and Mohammed Shami starred for India with the ball. Jadeja picked up 4/87 at an economy of 3.48 which included six maidens while Shami picked up a fifer i.e. 5/35 at an economy rate of 3.23 including two maidens. Rohit Sharma was adjudged Man of the Match for his spectacular centuries in both innings of the Test match. Making a comeback to the game's longest format, the 'Hitman' scored 176 in the first innings and 127 in the second.
