The Indian cricket team have also begun their preparations and recently defeated West Indies in a three-match ODI series by a margin of 2-1. Indian opener Ishan Kishan hit a hat-trick of half-centuries and ended up being the highest run-scorer in the series. On the other hand, Sanju Samson failed to rise to the occasion and disappointed the fans with his performance in the series.

The Indian cricket team management needs to find a like-to-like replacement for injured wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant for the upcoming ODI World Cup 2023. Ishan Kishan and Sanju Samson are the two front runners to replace Pant in the Indian cricket team for the upcoming ODI event. 

Ishan Kishan vs Sanju Samson: Statistical Comparison 

If we compare Ishan Kishan and Sanju Samson's numbers in international cricket, Ishan has an edge over Samson. Kishan has scored 694 runs from 16 ODI innings at an average of 46.26, which also includes a double hundred against Bangladesh in December 2022. On the other hand, Samson has featured in 13 ODIs, wherein he has hit 390 runs at an average of 55.71, which includes three half-centuries.
