Bangladesh's star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan stunned the cricketing world on Tuesday after the International Cricket Council (ICC) slapped a two-year ban on the player after he was found guilty of not reporting multiple approaches by bookmakers over the years. The announcement may be a shocker although something seemed to be fishy since Monday when Shakib was refused to practice alongside the Bangladesh team ahead of their upcoming tour of India.
Needless to say, this is a massive blow for the 'Bangla Tigers' and the growth of cricket in the country. Ironically, Shakib was one of the leading men in the team's recent player strike, in which they had a 13-point demand for the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) to fulfill.

However, this isn't the first instance of Shakib falling into some sort of trouble either with the board, media or his fans. Here are three of those infamous instances when the cricketer has been criticized or disciplined for his actions -
1) Missing the photocall for ICC Cricket World Cup 2019
According to Bangladesh media reports, Shakib al Hasan had missed the opportunity to click the team photo involving the entire Bangladesh squad and support staff prior to the marquee event. Although Shakib was arguably the best player of the tournament, this incident made many question Shakib's attitude towards the team. The BCB President Nazmul Hasan also expressed his disappointment on the issue.
2) Nidahas Trophy 2018: Shakib orders Bangladesh not to play
Shakib al Hasan's temperament came to the fore when he angrily called off his batsmen after the umpires refused to declare a no-ball on the first ball of the final over of their T20I against hosts Sri Lanka. Although Bangladesh chased down the 12 runs to win successfully later, it took the umpires some work to calm the situation down. Shakib's behaviour cost him 25% of the match fee.
3) Obscene gestures in an ODI vs Sri Lanka
Shakib is a man who finds it difficult to keep his emotions in check and this cannot be exemplified better from an incident in an ODI in Dhaka against Sri Lanka back in February 2014. The all-rounder was seen making obscene gestures from the dressing room when the big screen showed a replay of his dismissal. He was slapped with a 3-match ODI ban as well as a BDT 300,000 fine. In the same year in July, the BCB banned him for six months citing his 'severe attitude problem', a month after he allegedly manhandled a spectator who was said to have been troubling his wife in the stands during an ODI against India.
